Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • All the equipment and accessories available in the van are listed in the Equipment List.

  • Find all the van information, tutorial videos, check-out instructions, itineraries, insurance number, Vanbreak shop, etc., on our Vanbreak app. The application is also accessible by scanning the QR code inside the van.

  • If your van has a pop-up roof (VW California, Mercedes Marco Polo, CAMPEO van), it’s important to open ALL doors of the vehicle when you open and close the roof top avoid damaging it. Carefully watch the tutorial video corresponding to the model of your van. Damages to the roof are not covered by insurance and can amount up to €15,000. Before hitting the road, make sure to walk around the van and double-check that the roof is closed. NEVER DRIVE WITH THE ROOF OPEN!

  • The van has two batteries: one for the engine and another to power the living area (the fridge, lights, heating in the rear of the vehicle). These two batteries are independent, so you won’t risk running out of power when you want to start the van. The living area battery recharges when you drive or by connecting to a 220V power outlet (at a campsite) via the external socket on the van. Our vans are also equipped with solar panels to charge the battery. If you’re at a campsite, we recommend connecting to the campsite’s electrical hookup.

  • At night, remember to lower the power of the fridge to save battery. If you use the heating or hot water at night, remember to turn them off.

  • Make sure to close the sink and shower taps properly. If they’re left open, you risk damaging the water pump and running out of water. In our vans (SUNLIGHT and CAMPEO), you’ll find a spare water pump in the glove compartment. Watch the explanatory video on how to change the water pump via the QR code – Tutorial Video – Water Pump Replacement.
Don’t wait until the water tank is empty; refill it when it reaches 1/4 full.

  • To drain gray water and refill fresh water (and clean the toilet cassette), prioritize campsites and camper service stations, as well as motorhome service areas that have appropriate facilities. You can consult the Park4night mobile app for this.

  • The heating and hot water system operates as follows for the following models:
VW California, Mercedes Marco Polo, Sunlight Van operate using the secondary battery and diesel. It’s important to have the secondary battery charged and more than 1/4 of diesel in the vehicle’s tank.
    Burstner Campeo operates on gas.

ONLY FOR THE VANS (SUNLIGHT AND CAMPEO): When you turn on the heating and/or hot water, it’s important to close the window next to the dining table. See video for demonstration.

  • Remember to find a spot to sleep before nightfall. Download the Park4Night app, which allows you to find campsites, motorhome service areas, camper service stations for draining and refilling water, etc. Our recommendation is to find a spot to sleep before nightfall. Avoid parking on the beach to prevent getting stuck in sand or being submerged by the tide.

  • Your van has ALL RISKS insurance with a deductible. The deductible and your coverage depend on the insurance package you have subscribed to; by default, your van has BASIC insurance (Vanbreak insurance).
In case of an accident, it’s essential to complete the insurance report. You will find in the pocket located on the passenger side the vehicle’s papers, the insurance certificate, and an insurance report form. If you encounter any difficulties completing the insurance report, contact the police. Also, consult the QR code present in the van, under the SOS section, to contact the insurance company.
  • Our vehicles are equipped with a spare wheel. In case of a flat tire, contact the insurance company (number available from the QR code – SOS section), and they will come to change the wheel.

  • If your van has an electric step to get in and out of the vehicle, remember to close it before hitting the road. If it’s open when you start the van, an alarm will sound.

  • If you enter a parking area, be mindful of the vehicle’s height. Our VW California models are 2 meters tall, and our vans are 2.65 meters tall.

  • Remember to retract the awning when you leave the vehicle, or when it’s windy, rainy, etc. Watch the tutorial video to learn how to operate the awning (opening and closing) correctly without damaging it. When storing the awning, check that there are no leaves or branches on the awning fabric. It’s mandatory to close the awning if it’s windy, rainy, or when you leave the van.
