That\u2019s why we suggest you invest in a good old IGN map of the region that you are going to cross (between 3 and 5 euros). The scale should be small enough so that you can distinguish the localities, small streets, rivers etc. You will easily find one of these regional maps in a petrol station.<\/p>\n

Then, you only have to decrypt it. This tool proves to be very useful for organizing your trip. The map will tell you if there is water near, if the road is on a lower level, if you are going to cross a nature reserve, if the region you are going to cross is either wild or has lots of roads etc.<\/p>\n
