Goofy Coconut: I tested VanBreak<\/h1>\n

You’ve probably seen a few photos of our road trip to andalusia<\/strong><\/a> at the end of May here<\/a><\/strong> ! To launch their business, Olivier and Aur\u00e9lien invited us to try out one of their brand-new California Beach T6s<\/strong>. So we packed up our surfboards, wetsuits and swimsuits and headed off to the depths of Spain! Come and meet VanBreak<\/strong>! <\/span><\/p>\n

VanBreak Malaga: Presentation<\/h2>\n

The two founders met 5 years ago when they moved to Malaga<\/strong> for work. After criss-crossing the Andalusian coast, these two travel and ride enthusiasts (kiting, surfing and mountain biking) have just created VanBreak<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The idea: to enable everyone to live in complete autonomy, sleeping directly on the spot and being the first in the water in the morning: in the best place at the best time, the goal of all surfers (kiteurs). But you don’t have to be a rider! VanBreak is for everyone. Olivier and Aur\u00e9lien have chosen the latest T6 model: a top-of-the-range, ultra-comfortable van designed to provide maximum service in an ultra-compact, easy-to-use format. This ultra-compact California model can be used for camping in the wilderness or in city parking lots (to visit the Alhambra in Granada or Seville, for example). <\/p>\n

Rental VW California van Spain<\/h2>\n

With a minimum<\/strong> rental of 3 days<\/strong> (in low season and 5 days in high season), you can cover as many kilometers as you like (in Europe), and even go as far as Portugal if you like!<\/p>\n

VanBreak is conveniently located 10 minutes from Malaga airport<\/strong>, which offers regular low-cost flights from Toulouse, Bordeaux, Paris, Brussels and everywhere else in Europe from June onwards! Olivier and Aur\u00e9lien offer a shuttle service. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

No need to bring all your surf or paddle gear with you: VanBreak offers you the option of renting<\/strong> inflatable paddles, surfboards, kites… whatever you want, thanks to our various partners along the coast. You can even book bikes or an extra tent if there are more than 4 of you. In short, if you have any special requests, just ask (sleeping bag, bath towel, paddle, bike, bike rack, tent, WIFI)! Olivier and Aur\u00e9lien will be happy to try and answer them. <\/p>\n

For our part, we opted for thepaddle option <\/strong>, and it’s well worth it! We found some lovely spots to paddle on turquoise waters, all alone in the world. Decathlon’s ITIWIT inflatable paddles<\/strong> are available for hire, which gave me the chance to try out this model, which is extremely practical to use (inflates in 10 minutes, optimized storage, can be carried in a backpack (no more than a 20-minute walk, though), can even be used as a “longboard” on small waves, and is the perfect size for SUP Yoga! <\/p>\n

Reservations for the van and options are made 100% online on the Vanbreak<\/strong><\/a>which is extremely practical. 3 vans with different equipment are available (but the fleet will soon expand): 1 OCEAN (with built-in kitchen) and 2 BEACH (without kitchen, but with all camping gear supplied). <\/p>\n

As die-hard fans of this way of traveling, we loved VanBreak<\/strong>! Making the van experience accessible to all travelers is brilliant.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Available and accommodating, after giving us a great demonstration of how to use the van, Olivier and Aur\u00e9lien gave us great advice on the places not to miss on our itinerary.<\/p>\n

As for the vehicle itself, the T6 California Beach<\/strong> is a real gem in every respect: a super-smooth ride, space optimization with the swiveling seats<\/strong> and numerous storage compartments<\/strong>, the auxiliary battery for recharging phones and cameras… and the electric cooler (so practical!). We had quite a mess (our 2 surfboards, the paddle, the skates, the suitcases…) and yet there was still plenty of room! <\/p>\n

The must-have for us was the pop-top roof<\/strong>! What a pleasure to sleep in the fresh air, with your head in the trees, under the stars and with a view! It really is the best! <\/p>\n

As for the rest, we lacked nothing: all cooking equipment was provided<\/strong>, outdoor table and chairs, portable shower, first-aid kit …<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We criss-crossed the Costa de la Luz<\/strong> and in this area, we really had no problem sleeping wherever we wanted! It’s quite a change from the coastline of the Landes region, and apparently it’s the same all over Andalusia<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

East of Gibraltar<\/strong>, we often had trouble finding water for the shower\/dishes, with gas stations refusing to sell us any. So a word of advice if you’re going there, stock up (beach showers can be very useful in such cases). <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The best time to visit Andalusia is from April to the end of November. The advantage is that temperatures never drop below 10\u00b0C on the coldest winter days, with over 300 days of sunshine a year<\/strong>. Travel by van is therefore perfectly suited (the heating option is also available). <\/p>\n
